Talia learned to shear alpacas while working under 40-year sheep and alpaca industry veteran and expert shearer Matt Best during the spring 2025 shearing season. She learned to shear sheep at the summer 2025 Vermont Shearing School taught by Mary Lake and a dozen visiting shearing professionals from across the country, and has continued to practice the craft locally through the fall 2025 shearing season and beyond, under the tutelage of her mentor, Matt.
